9th Giambiagi Winter School, Part B:



FROM THE NANO TO THE MACRO SCALE: ELECTROMAGNETIC RESPONSE OF COMPLEX  
STRUCTURES

August 6-10, 2007 ? Buenos Aires, Argentina

The 9th Giambiagi Winter School is organized by the Physics Department  
of the School of Exact and Natural Sciences, University of Buenos Aires.

Each year the School is devoted to a different topic, and this year  
its purpose is to bring together world specialists on electromagnetic  
theory and complex structures, with graduate students and young  
researchers from the southern region of Latin
America.



Some of the topics covered by the School are:

     * Nano and micro structured plasmonic materials
     * Nano and micro structured surfaces
     * Photonic crystals
     * Metamaterials
     * Remote sensing using microwave polarimetric radars
     * Advances in electromagnetic methods
     * Random surfaces
     * Chiral and bianisotropic media
     * Periodic structures and frequency selective surfaces
     * New physical phenomena in complex media
     * Modelling of complex materials and surfaces
     * Numerical methods
