Subject: First announcement for the next REHE Congress
To: gaaucar at gmail.com

Dear Collaegues and friends,

It is my pleasure to bring to your attention the next REHE Congress to be
held in Corrientes, Argentina, from September 12 to 16. It will be a very
exciting scientific meeting with full of news on the broad area of Quantum
Physics and Chemistry (relativistic, QED and more!), in a very nice place.

For any question, please, do not hesitate to contact me.

Gustavo Aucar

The Tenth International Conference on Relativistic Effects on
Heavy-Elements (*REHE 2012*) will take place at Corrientes, Argentina on
September 12 - 16, 2012. The location of the conference will be at the
Hotel de Turismo de Corrientes, in a nice place of downtown Corrientes
(just in front of the Paraná river!). All conference activities - lectures,
the poster session, meals, etc. - will be taking place at the Hotel de
Turismo, where affordable room rates will welcome both junior and senior
participants. Thus, in the same spirit as in previous REHE Conferences,
non-stop* *interactions will be possible throughout long five days!
The 10th REHE will be attended by researchers and PhD students mainly
working in the always growing and exciting field of relativistic quantum
physics and chemistry, covering different fields of expertise: from
mathematicians to experimentalist.
A brief two courses lectured by experts will also be offered:
1) Fundamentals of relativistic quantum chemistry, and
2) Quantum electrodynamics of atoms and molecules.
The scientific program of the conference will include the following topics:

   - Relativity and quantum physics. New formalisms , models and
   applications
   - Electric and magnetic atomic and molecular properties. Nuclear and
   electron correlation effects.
   - New developments on QED of atoms and molecules.
   - Parity non conservation, chirality and time-reversal symmetry.
   - Superheavy elements. Theory and experiments.
   - Graphene. Solving Dirac-type equations in two dimensions. Applications.

Corrientes, as the provincial capital, is the most important city in the
province, its economical centre, and holds the authorities and governmental
institutions.
It has a mix of colonial and modern architecture, several churches and a
number of lapacho, ceibo, jacaranda. Its also home to one of the biggest
carnival celebrations in the country.
The annual average temperature is 20 °C (68 °F), with maximum and minimum
averages of 45 °C (113 °F) and 5 °C (41 °F) respectively. The annual
rainfall is around 1,200 millimetres (47 in).

*Fellowships*
There will be support for a limited number of PhD students. Applications
should be made via the registration web link. Students are also strongly
encouraged to participate in the pre-conference courses starting on
September 03, 2012.
