Once again, UNESCO together with L'Oréal is sponsoring awards for women in Condensed Matter (or Material) Sciences (physics and chemistry).  Five awards of $100,000 will be given, one each in Africa, Asia, North America (Canada and the US), Latin America, and Europe. The awards are given for outstanding scientific discoveries.

IUPAP has been asked to help publicize these awards and to collect nominations from around the world. Please think of the woman physicists you know who would be  good candidates for these awards and help submit their nominations.  

Here are the documents that are needed for each nomination:
1.	The nomination form for the correct region of the world (see attachments). This must be signed by the nominator.  If you want me to sign it on behalf of IUPAP, leave the bottom of the form blank, and I will fill this in.
2.	Curriculum vitae of the candidate.
3.	A summary in English (maximum of 5 typed pages) of her qualifications, essential scientific achievements, and contributions
4.	A list of her publications
5.	One reprint of here five most important publications.

If you would like to submit the nominations directly to L'Oréal, it should be sent by June 10 to:
