We present an experimental and
theoretical study of the anomalous Hall
effect (AHE) in MnAs epilayers grown
over GaAs, with the aim to identify the
intrinsic contribution to the AHE, which
can be accurately evaluated using ab
initio electronic structure
calculations. Our magnetotransport
measurements show a quadratic behavior
of the Hall resistivity with
longitudinal resistivity, characteristic
of scattering-independent processes,
thus enabling the comparison with our ab

nucleonic thermal conductivity of
nuclear star matter as it undergoes the

solid-liquid phase transition. The study
was carried out using molecular dynamics
simulations with nuclear potentials
embedded in an effective (i.e.
Thomas-Fermi) Coulomb potential. The
nucleonic thermal conductivity
experiences a dramatic change within a
narrow temperature interval around MeV.

The folds of the brain offer a
particular challenge for the
subarachnoid vascular grid. The
primitive blood vessels that occupy this
space, when the brain is flat, have to
adapt to an everchanging geometry while
constructing an efficient network.
Surprisingly, the result is a
non-redundant arterial system easily
challenged by acute occlusions. Here, we
generalize the optimal network building
principles of a flat surface growing
into a folded configuration and generate
an ideal middle cerebral artery (MCA)
configuration that can be directly
compared with the normal brain anatomy.
