"Bridging foundational quantum physics with practical public engagement has defined the career of Professor Juan Pablo Paz, whose work spans theoretical breakthroughs, community building, and science policy leadership. Paz's research addresses concepts essential for developing reliable quantum technologies. He co-authored the Hu-Paz-Zhang master equation, a foundational result in quantum theory, he played a leading role in the characterization of the process of decoherence, which is essential to understand the transition from quantum to classical behavior and was among the co-discoverers of the first perfect five-qubit quantum error correction code. He has also been instrumental in building Argentina's quantum ecosystem. He played a leading role in establishing two experimental laboratories at Buenos Aires which are now among Argentina's most active quantum research facilities. He has made quantum science accessible through Spanish-language publications for both the general public and university students.<br>
