Tema de la beca: Dinàmica no lineal de redes de regulación genéticas
Resumen: El/la estudiante desarrollará models teóricos de diversos tipos
de módulos de regulación genética, y analizará su comportamiento en
presencia de no-linealidades, ruido y acoplamiento inter-celular. Los
fenómenos que se estudiarán incluirán oscilaciones en la expression de
proteinas, diferenciación celular y sincronización en sistemas
multicelulares. La tesis se llevará a cabo en estrecha colaboración con

Topic: Nonlinear dynamics of gene regulation networks
Summary: The student will develop theoretical models of various types of
gene regulation motifs, and will analyze their behavior in the presence
of nonlinearities, noise and inter-cell coupling. The phenomena to be
studied will include oscillations in protein expression, cell
differentiation and synchronization in multicellular systems. The work
will be done in close collaboration with experiments. More information

Dear Colleague:

We would like to invite you to encourage your students and postdoctoral
fellows to participate in the Pan American Advance Study Institute on
?Electronic States and Excitations on Nanostructures?, to be held in
Zacatecas, Mexico between June 11 and June 22, 2007.

The US National Science Foundation generously sponsors the event, which
includes support for local expenses of some participating students and
young scientists.

We attach below a printable brochure describing this activity. We would
appreciate it if you would print and post it, or otherwise distribute
this to all scientists that may be interested in electronic structure
and/or nanostructures at your institution or elsewhere, especially those
