Titulo: AVERAGING PRINCIPLE

Abstract:

Averaging Principle is one of the most powerful methods of
Perturbation Theory. Although its applications are going back
to XIX century, even now there are many open questions concerning
its applicability and justification. It became clear in recent
years that, even in the case of pure deterministic systems,
averaging principle can lead to stochasticity. This stochastic
behavior is a result of instabilities in the original system.
I will explain when and in what sense long-time behavior of
relatively simple dynamical systems should be described as a
stochastic process.
