                       Postdoctoral Position in
                              AMO Physics

The Department of Physics and Engineering Physics at Stevens Institute
of Technology (SIT) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research
Associate position in theoretical AMO physics. Please see

The researcher will have the opportunity of working on two projects:
(1) quantum control of molecular dynamics in stimulated Raman
scattering  using crafted laser pulses; consideration of decoherence
effects; implementations in the CARS spectroscopy and microscopy to
advance   imaging techniques. See S. A. Malinovskaya, P.H. Bucksbaum,
P.R.  Berman, Phys. Rev. A 69, 013801 (2004); S.A. Malinovskaya, ibid
73, 033416 (2006), S.A. Malinovskaya, V.S. Malinovsky, Opt. Lett. 32,

(2) ultrafast dynamics induced by inner shell ionization, S.A.
Malinovskaya, L.S. Cederbaum, Phys. Rev. A. 61, 42706 (2000).

Salary is competitive, and the initial appointment will be for a period
of one year, renewable for the second year upon mutual agreement.
Candidates must possess skills in analytical and computer simulation.
Their background must include quantum optics and molecular
spectroscopy.
