El próximo martes 27 de mayo a las 14 continuará el Seminario de
geometria algebraica y aplicaciones en el Aula de Seminario del 
departamentoi de matemática.

La charla estar'a a cargo de Gheorghe Craciun (U. Wisconsin, Madison, EEUU) 
y será independiente del minicurso.

Titulo: Multiple equilibria for dynamical systems generated by biochemical 
reaction networks

Resumen: Biochemical reaction network models give rise to polynomial  
dynamical systems that are usually high dimensional, nonlinear, and  
have many unknown parameters. Due to the presence of these unknown  
parameters (such as reaction rate constants) direct numerical  
simulation of the chemical dynamics is practically impossible. On the  
other hand, we will show that important properties of these systems,  
such as the capacity for multiple equilibria, are connected with the  
network structure, and may not depend on the unknown parameters.  
Also, we will discuss how these connections impact the interpretation  
of experimental data.
