Post Doctoral Research Position

“BioMolecular Structures” group

Dr. Michel Mons

A post-doctoral research position will be available from May 2011 in the
field of laser spectroscopy and dynamics of biomolecules in the gas phase.
The work will be focussed on laser investigation of ground state
conformational flexibility and excited state dynamics of isolated and
hydrated peptides.

Delayed starting dates remain possible but not later than Oct 1st. The
initial appointment will be for one year. Extension for a second year will
be possible, contingent upon progress and mutual agreement. Net salary range
is approximately 2200 Euros per month.

Saclay is located in the SW of Paris, close to the cities of Orsay and
Gif-sur-Yvette, at approx. 20 km from Paris center.

 

The successful candidate is expected to hold a PhD in a relevant area of
chemical physics since no more than 2 years when taking the position. He/she
will have prior experience in gas phase techniques, including high vacuum,
lasers, spectroscopic techniques and mass spectrometry. Background in
theoretical approaches to electronic structure and force field calculations
would be an asset.

addresses of at least two academic referees, and should indicate their
possible starting date. The closing date for applications is March 15, 2011.
