Resumen:
Dr. Vandemark's research interests lie in the study of ocean and 
atmosphere boundary layer interactions and how to remotely measure ocean 
properties such as wind, waves, salinity, and mass flux using satellite 
radar and radiometer systems. He serves as a Principal Investigator on 
both NASA's Ocean Surface Topography and Ocean Surface Salinity Science 
Teams where he is involved in global-scale wind wave research projects 
directed at improving how satellites retrieve information on sea level 
and sea surface salinity. He also serves as the director of the EOS/OPAL 
Center for Coastal Ocean Observation and Analysis (COOA) where he is 
active in studying atmospheric carbon dioxide gas exchange with the 
coastal ocean, including NOAA and NSF research aimed at understanding 
the biological and physical controls driving CO2 into and out of the 
water here in the Gulf of Maine.
