The Graduate Program in Physics at UFPE now announces the opening of the
selection process for admission of new students for the Second Semester of
2012 (classes starting on August, 13).   (For Portuguese, see below.)

Students should apply to the Master’s or PhD Program in Physics until
***May 29***.

The required documents are: application form (annex I of the document of
annoucement), passport, one photograph 3 cm x 4 cm, educational record,
and cv with supporting documents.


Curriculum analysis will be taken from May 30 through June 14, and results
announced on June 15.


All selected students will be granted with a scholarship.

Research in Physics at UFPE

The Physics Department has been recognized for its excellence in the
formation of students and research in Physics for more than 40 years.

There are more than 30 research lines, grouped in four Areas of Research:

Condensed Matter Physics and Materials;
Optics;
Non-linear Dynamics, Chaos and Complex Systems;
Theoretical and Computational Physics;
Applied Physics.


In recent years, these lines of research have attracted students with
various backgrounds (physicists, chemists, engineers, etc.), coming from
all regions of Brazil and abroad.

This plurality of students is very welcome at UFPE. It also matches
perfectly with Recife’s multicultural environment
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recife),
a city with more than 3 million inhabitants and an intense cultural life.

SELEÇÃO DE NOVOS ESTUDANTES DE MESTRADO E DOUTORADO EM FÍSICA NA UFPE,
RECIFE

O Programa de Pós-Graduação em Física da UFPE tem a satisfação de anunciar
a abertura do processo seletivo de ingresso para o semestre 2012.2.

Os estudantes interessados em se candidatar ao Mestrado ou Doutorado em
Física têm até o dia **29 de maio** para se inscrever.
