RESUMEN:
We consider a model of greedy motion in a random environment on the line,
which reproduces the behavior described in the physics literature as the
deterministic walk in a strip. Given a Poisson point process on R, assign
either one or two marks to each point in this process, independently of the
others. We study the motion of a walk that jumps deterministically to the
nearest different point containing a mark, and removes one mark per visit.
We prove that, in contrast with the case where all points have one mark,
the addition of an arbitrary positive density of double marks makes the
walk become recurrent, meaning that every mark will be eventually removed.
