Titulo: The nightmare bacteria: We can win battles, but can we win the war?

Since the advent of antibiotics we kept the upper 
hand in the race between development of 
resistance and discovery of new effective 
antimicrobials. Now the tide is changing and 
bacteria are becoming resistant to most or all 
available drugs while the new antibiotics 
pipeline is drying up. Immediate action must be 
taken before it is too late. The seminar will 
discuss the main mechanisms of resistance to 
aminoglycoside antibiotics, their dissemination, 
and strategies to silence them.
