Les escribo para compartir un mail que los colegas de Miguel Virasoro en 
Israel enviaron para expresar su pésame por su fallecimiento. (Lo comparto 
abajo). Como ustedes saben, Virasoro trabajó en Israel por un período, 
luego de haber dejado Argentina en 1966. El paso de Virasoro por Israel, 
así como por los otros sitios en los que trabajó, ha dejado un recuerdo 
indeleble. Ese mail ees testimonio de ello.

Si bien estos colegas dirigen su mensaje a la última institución en la 
que, según ellos sabían, Virasoro se encontraba trabajando, creo que vale 
para todos y todas las que lo conocieron; por eso lo comparto.

Ese mensaje se suma a los de muchos otros colegas que lo recordaron en 
estos días; entre ellos, el director de los Institutos Solvay, el director 
del ICTP, el ex-presidente de la Universidad de Tel Aviv. Esto es muestra 
de la importancia que el trabajo de Miguel Virasoro tuvo y tiene en todas 
las disciplinas que iluminó.

Dear Professor Gaston Giribet,

We, current and past members of the center of excellence in string theory 
in Israel, wish to express our deep condolences to the Physics Department 
of Instituto de Ciencias, Universidad Nacional de General Sarmiento for 
the passing away of Miguel Virasoro. Please pass this to thepresident of 
the university and to the Physics faculty.

We were fortunate that Miguel has spent part of his postdoctoral 
fellowship in Israel at a very exciting period in particle physics. Many 
of us personally, and all of us indirectly, benefited from his 
originality, brilliance and gentle nature.  He was always open to his old 
and new friends in the Israeli community, be it when he was in Argentina, 
Cern, Torino , Director of ICTP, Professor in Rome and finally back in 
Argentina.

He was one the founders of string theory, and he will be dearly missed. 
May his memory be blessed.
