Hola a tod at s,

AstroAI Workshop - Unveiling the Universe with AI/ML
We are thrilled to announce the AstroAI Workshop, an event to learn about
the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in
Astrophysics.

*When: *July 7-11, 2025

*Where:* Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian (CfA), 60 Garden
St., Cambridge, MA 02138

*About the Workshop:* The AstroAI Workshop is designed to foster an
environment of learning, collaboration, and innovation. Over the course of
five days, participants will engage in a series of lectures and discussions
led by experts in the fields of AI/ML and astrophysics, hands on sessions,
talks by early career scientists in the field, and networking events. This
workshop is an opportunity for early career scientists to deepen their
understanding of foundational AI/ML models for astrophysical research, and
their potential in unraveling the mysteries of the universe.

*Who Should Attend:* The AstroAI Workshop is ideal for early career
scientists, including graduate students, postdocs, and researchers in the
early stages of their careers in astrophysics, computer science, and
related fields. However, anyone with a keen interest in the application of
AI/ML in astrophysics will find this workshop beneficial.
*Invited speakers include:*

   - Viviana Acquaviva (CUNY NYC College of Technology, Columbia
   University, website <https://www.drvivianaacquaviva.com>)
   - David Alvarez-Melis (Harvard University, website
   <https://dmelis.github.io>)
   - Bill Freeman (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, website
   <https://billf.mit.edu>)
   - Marc Huertas-Company (Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias and
   University of Paris, website <https://mhuertascompany.github.io>)
   - Elisabeth Sylvan (Brown University, Rhode Island School of Design,
Technical University of Munich, website <https://lisard.com/bio>)
   - Ashley Villar (Harvard University, website <https://ashleyvillar.com>)

*Topics:* Interpretability of AI/ML models; Large Language Models (LLMs);
computer vision; diffusion models; inference; the use of AI/ML in
astrophysical research.

*Hands-on sessions:* Participants will have the opportunity to engage in
hands-on sessions where they can apply concepts to real-world astrophysical
datasets. These sessions will be led by experienced instructors and will
provide participants with practical experience in using AI/ML techniques
for astrophysical research.

*Networking opportunities:* The workshop will include networking events
where participants can connect with other attendees, share ideas, and
explore potential collaborations. These events will provide a platform for
participants to discuss their research interests and learn from each other.

We are offering an in-person registration option for $350 and a remote
registration option for $25. The in-person registration includes access to
all workshop activities, lunch each day of the workshop, an opening
reception, and exclusive access to recorded invited and contributed talks
and posters after the workshop is over. Remote registration includes live
remote access to all invited and contributed talks as well as exclusive
access to recorded invited and contributed talks and posters after the
workshop is over.

*Deadlines:*

The deadline for financial assistance is *May 9th at 17:00 EDT (21:00 UTC)*.

The deadline for abstract submission for contributed talks is *May 16th at
17:00 EDT (21:00 UTC)*. Abstracts submitted after this date will only be
considered for posters.
