y su equipo del Laboratorio de
Polímeros y Materiales
Compuestos obtuvieron un nuevo
reconocimiento. Se trata del
premio UBATEC a la innovación e
investigación aplicada que
otorgan la Universidad de Buenos
Aires, la Unión Industrial
Argentina, el Gobierno de la
Ciudad de Buenos Aires y la
Confederación General de la
Industria. Con el dinero ganado
van a poder adquirir maquinaria
nueva para su laboratorio y, de
este modo, producir polímeros
biodgradables para utilizar como
envases a mayor escala.</p>

investigadores se conforma por
físicos, químicos, ingenieros en
alimentos y biotecnólogos.
Trabajan conjuntamente en la
producción de un film –la
película plástica que recubre
los alimentos- a base de almidón
de mandioca y lo mejoran con
diferentes aditivos, mediante
una novedosa técnica y única en
la UBA, la extrusión.</p>

transferir al sector industrial
un protocolo para que puedan
fabricar envases a partir de
recursos renovables y
completamente biodegradables.
Propusimos desarrollar un
plástico a base de almidón pero
supliendo las deficiencias

como la permeación al oxígeno y
al vapor de agua”, dice Silvia
Goyanes, de la Facultad de
Ciencias Exactas y Naturales de
la UBA.</p>
