We are pleased to announce the upcoming opening of registrations for<br>
the 28th edition of the J. J. Giambiagi Winter School, “New Directions<br>
in Condensed Matter”, which will take place in Buenos Aires,<br>
Argentina, from July 13 to 17, 2026.<br>
The topics covered by the School will include unconventional and<br>
topological superconductivity, spintronics, strongly correlated moiré<br>
systems, non-equilibrium and glassy matter, emergent phenomena in<br>
quantum matter, as well as associated experimental techniques such as<br>
Scanning Tunneling Microscopy and Quasiparticle Interference,<br>
presented by invited international lecturers.<br>
During the School, the University of Buenos Aires will award the<br>
degree of Doctor Honoris Causa to Professor Eduardo Fradkin, who will<br>
deliver a master lecture on Topological Phases of Matter. The program<br>
will also include invited talks by distinguished scientists from<br>
Argentina, discussion sessions, and contributed oral and poster<br>
presentations.<br>
There is no registration fee, and scholarships may be available<br>
(subject to funding availability) to encourage participation of<br>
students from Argentine universities and other institutions across<br>
Latin America. Participants will have the opportunity to present their<br>
research through contributed poster sessions.<br>
