Intramolecular Cross-links in Dendrimers:  Creation of Rigid Organic Nanoparticles and Insights on the Process.

 

Dendrimer end-group olefin metathesis crosslinking can be controlled and leads in a regular and predictable way to more compact and rigid macromolecular nanoparticles.  Model studies reveal considerably more detail about the cross-linking process. Most significantly the relative preference observed, type d ? type c > type b >> type a, shows that the geometrical design may be used to control the location of cross-linking within a macromolecular architecture.
