Hola a todos,

Quiero invitarlos a una charla sobre algunos problemas abiertos en el
campo de la robótica móvil que dará el Dr. Jose Guivant (Australian Centre
for Field Robotics). Va abajo el título y resumen de la charla (aunque
están en inglés la charla será en castellano). La cita es el próximo lunes
31 de Mayo, en el aula 10 del pabellón I a las 9 am.

Title: Real-Time Data Fusion, Perception and Control of Autonomous
Machines in Unknown Environments

Abstract:

The talk will include the presentation of the applied approaches and
results of the data fusion, perception and control of autonomous vehicles,
designed to work in multi-agent tasks. The processes that will be
discussed include the real time data fusion for localization, mapping in
2D and 3D, multi-layer dense mapping, multi-sensor data fusion and the
control modules. The control modules include the real-time global planner
based on Dynamic Programming, applied to non-holonomic path planning in
dense environments. Those environments are not known a priori;
consequently the planner must be able to re-plan even in a high frequency
fashion, making the real time constraints more extreme.

Relevant components of the system will be operated and shown in the
presentation, simultaneously working in real-time but fed from virtual
sensors from a play-back process (based on real-data). A rich data-set
obtained from our platforms will be presented and explained for use in
research and teaching. The data-sets involve the simultaneous acquisition
of diverse sensors such as GPS, 3D accelerometers, 3D gyros, 2D laser
scanner, 3D laser scanner, multiple cameras, speed, etc. The data can be
easily used in Matlab or standalone applications in c/C++.
