Dear colleague,

Please find enclosed a postdoc ad in condensed matter theory
at MPI-PKS in Dresden, in txt and pdf format. We would be grateful
if you could bring this to the attention of the members of your group.

With best regards,

Roderich Moessner

PS Please accept our apologies if you receive more than one copy of this
announcement.

--------------------------------------

The Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems in Dresden
announces the opening of one or several postdoctoral positions for 2011
in the area of condensed matter theory, to work with Roderich Moessner,
Stefan Kirchner, Andreas Laeuchli and Frank Pollmann. The areas of research
(http://www.pks.mpg.de/mpi-doc/CondensedMatter/index.shtml) range
from strongly correlated Fermions and Bosons in and out of equilibrium,
frustrated systems and topological phases of matter, via computational
many-body physics to quantum computation and information theory.

The Institute (http://www.pks.mpg.de) provides a stimulating environment
due to an active in-house workshop program and a broad range of other
research activities. Strong experimental groups are nearby, both in the
neighbouring Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids as well as
at the Technical University of Dresden and other local research laboratories.

Applicants should send their application material (one pdf file including cover
letter quoting CMpd11, curriculum vitae, list of publications,
research statement),
and arrange for at least two letters of reference to be sent by
January 15 to the
Visitors' Programme, preferentially by email (visitors en pks.mpg.de), or by
regular mail (MPI-PKS; Noethnitzer Str. 38; 01187 Dresden; Germany).

The Max Planck Institute aims to increase the number of women in scientific
positions. Female candidates are therefore particularly encouraged to apply.

In case of equal qualifications, candidates with disabilities will
take precedence.
