*Título: **Boundary modified contact process*

*Abstract:* We consider a contact process on Z starting from a finite
infected region for which the rates associated to the rightmost and
leftmost infect points are modified. Durrett and Schinazi showed that if
the rate at which the infection propagates to right and to the left of the
infected region increases, the critical infection rate inside that region
remains constant. Contrasting with this result we show that an increase of
the recovery rate of the rightmost infected point causes a strict increase
of the critical value of the infection parameter.
