Hola a todos,

Les recuerdo que hoy, miércoles 31 de julio, tenemos seminario de teoría de
campos y gravitación <http://users.df.uba.ar/gaston/seminarios.html>, que
se llevará a cabo a las 14 hs en el Departamento de Física FCEN-UBA. Los
detalles son los siguientes:

Speaker: Oscar Hernández (Marianopolis College & McGill University, Canada).
Horario: miércoles 31/7, 14 hs.
Lugar: aula de seminarios del Departamento de Física.

Título: "How to See the Dark: Signatures of strings and other things in the
21 cm radiation from high redshift hydrogen".

Abstract: Because the physics of the Dark Ages is relatively simple and
well understood, any observed deviation from the expected evolution would
be a clean signature of new physics. I will discuss this physics and show
how the 21 cm line can be used to
i. see cosmic strings, if they exist, and
ii. test the assumptions of statistical isotropy of the universe through
the matter power spectrum.
